Is it hard to ride a horse?
Just sitting on a horse may appear easy, but learning to ride well is just as difficult as learning any other sport well.
The great thing about riding is that you are never too late to start! My beginner students range in age from 5 to 62!
Learning any new activity can be intimidating, but my students all agree that riding is worth pursuing even if you are not young! It takes time and patience though. Over the years, the feedback from my students is always the same; riding is awesome! There are always ups and downs and you dont get good at it overnight. You need to be patient with yourself and your horse because developing riding skills takes time.
At first, your goal is simply to learn how to sit on the horse without bouncing around in the saddle. Riding from one point to another without bouncing about or falling off AND feeling comfortable takes time, patience and determination. In the beginning, it may seem that you aren’t improving week to week but looking back year over year, your progress will be obvious!
